Elgin Theatre Rules
Make your Elgin Theatres experience a memorable one by reading and adhering to the following rules and policies.
Accessible Seating Policy
If you require wheelchair or other special-needs seating, please call the theatre at 416-314-2872 and Elgin Theatre staff will do their best to accommodate. Wheelchair seating is located on the orchestra/main lobby level and is fully accessible right from the front door and straight through to the orchestra seats.
Elgin Theatres has an elevator at the ground floor that takes you to the entrance of Mezzanine Level. After getting off the elevator, you will have to walk up 7 steps to the Mezzanine lobby for washrooms and 8 steps from there to Mezzanine seating.
Handrails are available against the wall on the far side aisles only. The middle aisles do not have railings or posts.
Elgin Theatres offers infrared hearing enhancement systems that are available at concessions in the main lobby. You will have to leave a piece of identification (driver’s license, government-issued ID, etc.) with Theatre staff to request these devices. Your ID will be returned upon return of the hearing device.
Applause Policy
Audiences tend to wait until all movements or sections of a piece are complete before clapping.
Late Arrival Policy
Elgin Theatre events start promptly at the time indicated on your tickets. If you arrive late for your event, you may be asked to wait in the lobby until a designated break period to avoid disruption to on-time guests. To avoid frustration, Elgin Theatres recommends that you arrive no later than 10 minutes before your scheduled event, so you have time to find your seat.
